My educational background is in English language and linguistics. I worked briefly as a teacher, but switched to a career in software development during the dotcom boom of the late nineties. Since then I have worked for a variety of employers from small to very large (ASML, Metro AG). I have seen languages and standards come and go (Perl, DHTML, XSLT), but I will never lose the appetite to learn. My current favourite languages are Kotlin and Scala.
I enjoy music (singing, piano, cello), photography, theatre (acting/writing and directing), reading on a range of topics and healthy food and living. I consider myself a true generalist.
